With the end of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, what better way to ring in the next big media event than with a huge red carpet? Well, leave it to the Academy Awards to go ahead and kick off the post-Olympic craziness. A few things to look out for?

That crazy woman who walks around on the red carpet talking about what people are wearing. Apparently she has a name, Joan Rivers, and apparently she isn’t actually a an evil cyborg… Go Figure. In any case, this lady really adds to the hype of the big night, so it will be interesting to see what she has to say about what people will be wearing.

The 82nd Academy Awards are doing something a bit different this year as they’ve completely gotten rid of the musical performances. In year’s past they have featured big named musical artists performing original songs from flicks throughout the year. But 2010 will bring us nothing more than a clip from the movie with some music playing. Doesn’t sound the same at all.

The TEN nominated films for Best Picture…. Uh, a bit much? In any case, we’ve been spending a lot of time catching up on the nine other films we haven’t seen this year that aren’t called Avatar. So far, our dark horse looks to be Up In The Air.
